I'm the site manager and editor of PikesPeakSports.us, the digital stomping ground for the outdoor community.
I've lived in the area since 1967, back in the day when our family milked cows for a living on a dairy farm near Calhan.
Graduated from the University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State-Pueblo) in 1982. Worked at The Gazette for many years.
I've written a lot of words and I've loved and fretted over all of them.
I'm fascinated by the online world we live in, social media and the changes that are sure to come.
I'm low maintenance ... sort of. Just give me my drawing stuff and painting easel, brushes and oils, my fly-fishing rod, mountain bike, trail-running shoes, Tom Petty on the iPod, a piece of dirt for my garden, my guitar, my beautiful daughter Laurel at my side, and a good cup of coffee ... you'll get no trouble out of me.

Doing some homework on ways to donate and contribute to the Black Forest Fire victims, first responders and volunteers.
First a quick digression: Did you ever slide cash into somebody's birthday card and mail it to them? It never felt right to me, as if I didn't take the time to consider the person, or shop for the perfect gift. But I can tell you that I'm always happy…

I rolled down the window and cranked up the Rock ‘n’ Roll at 3:15 a.m. as Shawn Finley and I blasted out of Colorado Springs on Saturday morning.
Our destination: Moore, Okla., a green, tree-filled city raked by a killer tornado on May 20.
I pulled a U-Haul trailer full of new and used running shoes, all donated by the awesome folks in the Colorado Springs…

I would like to get a copy of the photo you took of my grandson and me at Jack Quinns last night. Is that possible?
