Hello everyone, Brian McCarrie here with my Garden of the Gods 10 miler Race Report.
First of all, I was really nervous going into this run. It's been a while since I've run 10 miles and I honestly didn't know how it was going to turn out but in the end I didn't do horrible so that's good.
Here's how the day went.
Fortunately I didn't have any pre-race anxiety and was able to get a good nights sleep and I woke up at 6:00am feeling rested. I live right down the street…

I've run the Triple Crown before. I've actually run it several times. I've completed the Pikes Peak Ascent 5 times and the Pikes Peak marathon once. My best Ascent time is 4:12. That was 9 years ago. Since that time, for one reason or another, I've slipped away from running. Focusing on different activities from time to time. I've always been a mountain biker so I would ride my bike, I did Crossfit for a while, I would swim or go to the gym and do my own workouts but I've always loved…

I was a bit nervous about going to this ride for a few reasons. Were people going to look at me like I didn't belong there? Where people going to look at my older bike and think "who's the old school dude on the old bike"? But most of all I was a bit nervous because I wasn't sure if I could keep up.
I got there right at 10:00am and no one was there. I started to think, maybe I already missed them. I hung out for a few minutes and people started to show up. After about 10 min or so,…

Hi Brian,
I told my husband about the Bone Health Study at USSC. Thanks for posting that! I hope he can still get in.

I am SO not good at this "social networking" thing. Brian, can I get a good copy of the Winter Series III Gallery 5photo of IMG_0715? Gal with dark hair, pink shirt and huge smile. I'm the Pikes Peak Road Runners newsletter editor, and I would like to put it on the cover of the next issue. Of course, I need it ASAP--the photographer who took the photo of the same gal from OutThereCO still hasn't gotten back to me from this morning and we need to put this together. I couldn't find any other way to get to you from the photo, so I hope this works.--Lori
Hi Brian,
As I just wrote to Tim, I can not tell you enough about how impressed I am with this site. I just wish I would have become a member earlier on. Great job!

Brian,
Thanks! I had a lot of fun playing around with different configurations of bikes/trikes/trailers and trees this year.
Just wait till you see what I'll be doing in 2011!
Pedal-powered fun, excitement and possibilities :-)
Cheers,
Allen
