Nancy Hobbs of Colorado Springs finished third in the Knights' 5K Challenge on Saturday. She used the race as a tune-up for the World Masters Running Championships on Saturday (May 19) in Buhlertal, Germany. Hobbs, 51, has finished fourth in her age-group twice and hopes to make the podium this year. She is the executive director of the American Trail Running Association and a longtime running advocate in the Pikes Peak Region. Hobbs is the race director of the Paint Mines 6K Presented by Wal Mart. The Paint Mines is an El Paso County Park near Calhan, Colo. Hobbs will also serve as co-race director (with Ron Ilgen of the Triple Crown of Running) for the 2012 Pikes Peak Road Ascent, Oct. 7, a 10K from the Pikes Peak Highway toll gate to Crystal Reservoir.
