Tracy Thelen said she just wanted to have a little fun at the Rock Canyon Half Marathon on Saturday in Pueblo. The race must have been a complete blast for the 33-year-old runner and cyclist from Colorado Springs. Thelen grabbed the lead in the first mile and pulled away from the women's field to win in 1:28:30.
The Boulder Running Company's Michael Weiss, 31, Colorado Springs, charged uncontested to the win in 1:14:24. Neal Oseland (43, Colorado Springs) defended his masters' championship of a year ago, winning in 1:21:36.
