Matt Shriver, coach of the Fort Lewis College team, broke away with about lap to go to win the Pro/Cat 1 race.
He beat some of the riders he coaches.
"I try to set a good example," he said. "I mak ethe work for me."
Shriver said he had one good move in him, and he saved it until the last lap.
"I rode smart," he said. "I worked, but not too much. I followed some and had enough left in me at the end to make one good move."
