Kenny Frith caught a fast ride to the finish line of the American
Discovery Trail Marathon with the help of about 50 AFA cadets.
(We'll keep you posted on his official time) Here the story of
Kenny and his father, Gary: A year ago, Gary and Kenny Frith were
the talk of the American Discovery Trail Marathon. Gary, a retired
Air Force Academy graduate (1978), pushed Kenny, his son who
suffers from Cerebral Palsy, in a large wheeled jogger for the
entire 26 miles to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Association
of Colorado Springs. But Gary has bigger plans this year. He has
enlisted the help of about 50 of his old AFA squadron mates. The
plan is to push Kenny to a new ADT Marathon record on Sept. 6.

The ADT Marathon Expo totally rocked. Met a
lot of cool people. Talked running all day and we got the word out
about PikesPeakSports.us, your grassroots connection to running,
riding, hiking and climbing in the Pikes Peak Region. Special
thanks to the Boulder Running Company and ADT Marathon race
director Sara Wulfkuhle who invited us to be a part of the Expo.

GIVE IT UP FOR THE LADIES: The 2009
American Discovery Trail Marathon Relay was won by the all-women's
team of Amy Regnier, Ashlee Nelson, Elizabeth Watkins and Connilee
Walter (right) in a race-record time of 2:56:01.
That's the
overall relay record ... you know, faster than the men...yeah.
And the record will stand for another year as no realy teams
beat it in 2010.
