Start of Winter Series IV long-course (20K) race

Runners enjoyed perfect spring-like weather in the Black Forest on Saturday as the Pikes Peak Road Runners' Winter Series wrapped up. This is the start of the long race (20K). Ryan Hafer charged to the front and stayed there. He won with a course-record time of 1:13:26, breaking Peter Maksimow's old mark of 1:15:39, set a year ago. Hafer also claimed the overall series title. In the women's race, Stephanie Meredith dashed to the win in 1:31:34, to capture her second consecutive long-course championship.
