Peter Maksimow breaks his course record at Greenland Trail 50K
Peter Maksimow, 34, of Colorado Springs, broke his own record in the Green Trail 50K on Saturday, covering the rolling course in 3:21:10. He never expected to win or set a record. Maksimow has been hobbled by a plantar fasciitis for several months, but had no problems in winning at Greenland Open Space for the third consecutive year. He did say that shaving off his massive runner's beard may have helped reduce his wind resistance.
