This is how the 2012 running season is going for Ryan Hafer. On a day when he didn't know whether or not he would run because of tendonitus flaring in his foot, Hafer captured the Winter Series men's long-course title, setting a record in the series finale. Hafer covered the Winter Series IV course - 20K on the rolling roads of the Black Forest - in 1:13:26. He said he entered the Winter Series for the training, but he ran with purpose. Hafer won all four races to finish about 16 minutes ahead of second-place Scott Spillman in the final series standings.
