I just registered for the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown Series! The Summer Roundup Trail Run will be on July 9th!
I truly love the challenge of Bear Creek Trails. The views are spectacular and the entire race is on trails. There are some good hills that keep runners honest. If you run smart, you also get some good opportunities to gain ground on the long downhills!
The 3-loop course will weed out the runners that have been doing the work from those that have not. I may be in the later group, but I am very excited for the challenge and to see my friends!
My training has been a bit inconsistent. My last run was Sunday. My goal was to run 10 miles and I ended up only going 8.5 and had to walk a few times, as well as stop and stretch. Unfortunately, my injury to my right leg is flaring up. If you haven't read my first post, I have been struggling with achilles and peroneal tendonitis, as well as plantar fasciitis. My run, on Sunday, was rather painful. I have taken the last 2 days off and plan to run today. Actually I am about to head out now.
I will be heading to the Santa Fe Trail to run on dirt and stay fairly flat, today. I wear a night splint/boot every night. Some nights I have to take it off because it is hard to sleep with it on. Last night, was a good night! I kept in on all night and my lower leg feels better today. I am excited to get in a run. I will run 4-6 miles, depending on how I feel when I get started. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
1. Have fun!
2. Run hard, push my body!
3. Finish strong!
4. Stay healthy! (MUST LISTEN TO BODY!!!)
SEE YOU OUT THERE FRIENDS!!!
