This is Brian McCarrie on the southwest shoulder of Mt. Columbia. It was late June, 2008, and a great day for climbing. The trail on Columbia is not well marked and erosion from hikers is really taking a toll on the mountain. If you're climbing your first 14er or looking for an easy one to knock off, I'd try another mountain. Mt. Harvard is nearby and might be a better choice.
