Fort Collins racer Erick Carlson narrowly defeated Norm Alvis of Colorado Springs in the Men's Cat. 3/4 race. The victory was his second in a row.
"These are people I race each week," he said. "I won last week in Golden, so it's good to see that wasn't a fluke."
He said he knew things were going well when only he and Alvis were away.
"I looked around and saw that he (Alvis) was on my wheel," Carlson said. "When a fast guy is catching you that's a good thing. You know you have a chance."
