The Women's Mountain Biking Association of Colorado Springs held its second annual fundraiser Saturday at McCabe's Tavern in Colorado Springs.
The nonprofit organization was formed by Elizabeth Turnage, Jessica Conner, Hillary Hienton, and Mary Hoyle in the fall of 2008.
The WMBACOS mission is as follows: "To educate and encourage women of all levels of skill and interest in cycling through making the sport and cycling community in Colorado Springs more accessible and visible.
We aim to encourage participation in race events through a developmental team, WMBA Racing
Organize group and training rides
Educate women through skill and bike maintenance clinics
And organize social events to promote community
While we are a commited group of female racers and skilled riders, membership includes female cyclists interested in completing their first race or group ride.
