Meadow Muffins general manager Rachelle Cully didn't know what the turnout would be when she organized the first Muff's Running Club run at Meadow Muffins in Old Colorado City.
"There isn't anything like it on the west side," Cully said.
But she was smiling when about 18 showed up for the inaugural run on Thursday, April 1.
"Hey that's not bad," she said. "That's more than I expected."
If the Muff's run draws only half the interest of other social runs in the area, Cully will have hundreds of runners - and soon.
Everyone is welcome, runners and walkers of all ages.
"My neighbors brought their daughter who is in junior high," Cully said. "That's what I want this to be. It's meant to be a social kind of gathering."
The club will run every Thursday at 6 p.m.
