4th Annual Peace Officers Memorial Valor Run

Boulder Running Company runner Andy Rinne, 35, of Colorado Springs, won the Peace Officers Memorial Valor Run on Saturday. Rinne covered the mostly flat 5K in 17 minutes, 16 seconds, a new course record.
"The run felt good," Rinne said. "I came out for a good cause. This is what's all about. I wanted to show my support for the police officers and for the people who help make Colorado Springs safe."
The run was a fund-raiser for the Peace Officer's Memorial, which will be located at America the Beautiful Park.
Race director Erin Gibson said the project will cost about $1 million. She said about $300,000 has been raised toward that goal. Anyone who would like to contribute can find more information at http://www.peaceofficermemorial.com.
Nacho Mata, 24, Colorado Springs) was second in 18:53, a new 20-29 age-group record. Todd Murray (47, Colorado SPrings, 18:58) was third.
In the women's race, Rhonda Harrop of Springville, Utah, won in 22:26, a 30-39 age-group course record.
Georgann Richardson was second in 23:34, a new age-group record in the 50-59 division.
Kristi Havenar (35, Colorado Springs, 24:00, was third.
