Metro Rides and the City of Colorado Springs proudly celebrate National Bike to Work Day this year on June 9th with a FREE Bike to Work Day Breakfast, Mayor’s Ride, and Corporate Team Challenge! Join
hundreds of cyclists, Mayor Lionel Rivera, City leaders, and corporate VIPs as
they take to the streets of Colorado Springs on two wheels to celebrate bicycle
commuting in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region during Metro Rides Bike Month+ (Plus)! Ditch the car, get on a bike, save gas, and
enjoy a FREE breakfast on your way to work!
Organize a workplace team to participate in Metro Rides’ Corporate Challenge with rewards for teams with the most cyclists bicycling to
breakfast. Bike to the breakfast
location closest to your workplace or join Mayor Lionel Rivera for the Mayor’s Ride to the Pioneers Museum! The Mayor’s Ride begins at 6:00am at UCCS’s
Alpine Village Apartment Parking Lot, heads west to the Pikes Peak Green Way
Trail, then south to the Pioneers Museum for breakfast.
“Biking to work is a fun and easy way to get in shape, save money, and help the environment,” says Brian Grim, Metro Rides Program Supervisor.
“Employers also benefit by encouraging their employees to bike to
work. Biking to work is fun, builds
morale, and controls costs by reducing demand for parking spaces. More physically active employees are more
alert, healthy, and productive. Bike to Work Day is the perfect time to
start riding your bike for everyday transportation!”
Metro Rides’ Bike to Work Day Breakfast is free, but registration is required and donations are welcome - $1 per wheel. Space is limited, so hurry! Register for breakfast and the Corporate Challenge
