I'm leading winter indoor cycling group rides and elevation training for Mountain Top Cycling Club in Woodland Park. We are riding Thursday nights from 7:00 to 8:15 at Woodland Park Middle School auditorium. Bring your own bike and indoor trainer. Set up from 6:30 to 6:55 pm. We are using Seek Out Cycling movies (www.seekoutcycling.com) on a 200" screen. The first six weeks are the six stages of Ride the Rockies 2011 edition. Come on up to 8500 feet this winter and ride with us. For insurance reasons, you must join Mountain Top Cycling Club to participate in this 14 week indoor cycling training project - it's only $25. See www.mountaintopcycling.com. Join us for indoor cycling adventures.
Spruce Mtn Rd is great, except for that occasional WIND! No trees for protection. I shouldn't complain. I commute from the Springs to Falcon and the winds are kickin' out there, too...
Dan - I live in Monument so that is most definitely one of my favorite rides. Spruce Mtn Road into Larkspur is one of my favorite stretches of asphalt!
One of my favorite rides is Hwy 105 from Palmer Lake to Sedalia (or visa-vera). It's about 50 miles round trip. There are great views, rolling hills and curves. If you want to add an additional 6 miles or so, you can take a side trip into Perry Park to check out the cool rock formations.
Has anyone else enjoyed this route?
