About

Tim Bergsten created this Ning Network.

PHOTO: In April, 2010, The Boulder Running Company invited us to the Jack Quinn's Running Club to talk about our new website. We were thrilled to meet Tera Moody, one of the top road runners in the country.

.

This is the way it works around here. Today, Brian and I fiddled with our website and discussed our plans for taking over the world when he made a discovery and sent the message: "Happy birthday to PikesPeakSports.us!"

We knew our one-year anniversary was rolling around, but the website keeps us focused on community events. It's easy to overlook things like anniversaries.

We reminisced for a few minutes, recalling the excitement we felt as the idea for the area's original outdoor social network came to life. We knew from the get-go that PikesPeakSports.us would work.

As the plan took shape, we wrote these words: "PikesPeakSports.us: It's like Facebook for people with rocks in their shoes." We plowed ahead, determined to build community, but we needed your help to create this grassroots site. We had no budget, no staff, no marketing or advertising department.

We had two dudes with an idea and a ton of passion for their community.

And that community delivered. All of you, the incredible people who run and ride, climb and hike, who toil behind the scenes to organize events and maintain our trails, provided the fertile ground in which PikesPeakSports.us took root.

Your participation has made the site more successful than we imagined it could be. And for that we are extremely grateful.

We'd planned to have a party and invite everyone, but honsetly, we're too darned busy. And that is a good problem to have. Besides, we have a rocking idea for our second anniversay. (You'll have to wait to hear about it...sorry.)

We hope you find our website useful. We are always open to ideas and suggestions. PikesPeakSports.us is your community website, the place to share your photos, videos and stories about your fun and active lifestyle. We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks again,
Tim Bergsten and Brian McCarrie

P.S. If you would like to give us a birthday present, please click here and vote for PikesPeakSports.us as the area's best website.
