A benefit race for the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon nonprofit organization, the Canya Cañon will run on a new course this year. Heavy rains in September damaged trails and the road surface in Cheyenne Cañon, forcing organizers to make changes.
The event will start at the Starsmore Center at the mouth of Cheyenne Cañon. The course then heads into the Stratton Open Space area before finishing back at Starsmore.
Nearly all of the trails in the Cheyenne Cañon and Bear Creek area remain closed, though the U.S. Forest Service has begun work to repair flood damage.
Register online at Active.come or at the Boulder Running Company (3659 Austin Bluffs Pkwy) or Starsmore Discovery Center (2120 N Cheyenne Canyon Rd.)
Awards and beer at Ivywild School after the race.
