USA Cycling unveiled its complete 2011 national championship calendar today. A total of 17 events will provide riders of all ages and abilities with opportunities to win national
titles across all five disciplines of competitive cycling. Of the 17
events, 12 are headed to new host cities.

After being part of the 24 Hours of Moab for the past two years, the USA Cycling 24-Hour Mountain Bike National Championships will feature a change of scenery for 2011. Making the move to Colorado Springs, Colo., the event will award Stars-and-Stripes jerseys over the
weekend of October 1-2.

Though it has not been officially announced, the race will be held at the Air Force Academy, and Tim Scott, a Palmer High School teacher who organized the 24 Hours of Colorado Springs last September, has been tabbed as race director.

Is this the 24hrs of COS race? Or will we have two 24hr races here in the Springs next year?

I love what is happening here :-)

Allen,

Trying to scrape together the details (and finish Christmas shopping).

This is the 24 Hours of Colorado Springs race. Lots of things to be decided yet, like will the race still be named the "24 Hours of Colorado Springs?" Most likely, yes. And it is pretty much a cinch that it will be at the AFA. If you hear anything, please share it here. Thanks!
