Celebrate Colorado Trails!
Make plans to help as we celebrate the trail system at El Paso County’s only state park. We plan to develop a series of connector trails near our campgrounds to allow better access to our already developed trail system at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Those of you who already spend time maintaining or building trails will appreciate the opportunity to actually get out and BUILD new trail.
We also plan to build several rock retaining walls. If this intrigues you, please know we can work with novice trail builders as well as those who know their way around a Pulaski or a McLeod. What we want is to give you a wonderful experience in the outdoors, an experience that allows you to both enjoy two days spent in the outdoors as well as giving back to our park system.
Feel free to work either or both days. We will start at the Visitors Center at 8:00 AM on Saturday and 11:00 AM on Sunday. We will work till 2:00 on Saturday and 3:00 on Sunday. Coffee and donuts will be provided each morning. Bring a lunch if you plan to work all day Saturday.
What to bring: plenty of water and sunscreen, and a lunch on Satruday.
What to wear: Sturdy boots or shoes, gloves, long pants and long-sleeved shirt, and sun or safety glasses.
CMSP is located off Highway 115, south of South Academy Blvd., acroos from Fort Carson's main gate.
Please contact Jack Busher at jbusher@qwest.net if you plan to attend either or both days.
