Tommy Manning and Pete Maksimow are two of the top mountain runners in the country. And that means they go up the mountain quickly. This video is taken about 1.75 miles into the Run to the Shrine 10K and they've already opened up a big lead on the field. Manning, leading in the green, won the race with a time of 38 minutes, 40.5 seconds. Maksimow was close behind in 39:22.4. Both runners will compete in the Mount Washington Hill Climb in June in New Hampshire. The top six men from the U.S. at Mount Washington will qualify for the U.S. Mountain Running Team, which will compete at the World Mountain Running Championships in September.
