Start of the Pikes Peak Road Runners' Fall Series No. 1 race
Alex Nichols and Connilee Walter won the Fall Series I race on Sunday, charging through several deep pools of water in Monument Creek. The 3.5-mile course weaved in and out of Monument Creek, leading runners through deep holes carved in the creekbed by recent flooding. It was like a big swim party in Nikes.
