Casey Powell was the fastest woman at the Max Silver Fun Run for the fourth time. She is the only woman to have ever won the race. Cody Hill, owner of the Boulder Running Company's Colorado Springs store, captured the men's race for the second-consecutive year. He finished in 18 minutes, 8 seconds.
Silver, who passed away in 2007, was a cross country runner at Cheyenne Mountain High School and team captain. The race is a fundraiser for the Little Dipper Pool, where Max was a lifeguard, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region, and the Maxwell Silver Fund, which helps support the Southwest Writers Institute at Fort Lewis College.
