Cam Chambers and Tinker Juarez finish Lap 1 in the 24 hours of Colorado Springs

Cam Chambers blazed around the first lap of the 24 Hours of Colorado Springs in 56 minutes to take an early lead on Saturday at Palmer Park. The race is USA Cycling's 24 Hour National Championship. Several cyclists from Colorado Springs have an opportunity to win national titles. Chambers is one of the favorites to win the solo championship. Mountain bike racing legend Tinker Juarez was riding in second place after one lap. They are on track to cover about 270 miles or more in the 24 hours. Night riding will slow them and exhaustion will naturally take a toll later in the race.

Jill, Cam had the fastest lap of the race...55:45 over 13 miles. But, 16-year-old Kyle Bloesser had the second-fastes lap of the race ... 56:58, which is right at what Russell Finsterwal was riding on the same course last year. These people are incredible.
