Video of the start of the 5K Run/Walk for Hope 2011 and Paws for a Cause Dog Walk at the Flying Horse Barefoot Park. The race was a fundraiser for the Salvation Army and an excellent community event that included helicopter rides, face painting, a kids' fun run and good food from Chick-fil-A. About 160 runners tangled with the 5K course.
Caleb Welz, 17, who runs at The Classical Academy, was quickest with a time of 19:20. Ian O'Brien, 17, placed second in 19:25, followed by Jacob Huisingh, 16, at 19:38.
Jenna Press, 17, won the women's race with a time of 22:17. She was followed by Brianne Hoglin, 14, in 23:04 and Meg Rudy, 19, in 24:06.
