FLATLAND BMX PRO James Macgraw to perform for youth
The Business of Arts Center and ROLLBIKEART.COM are proud to present the 6th Annual ROLL Bike Art Festival. ROLL has brought its mystique to Manitou in 2010 with Free Saturday featuring BMX magic for kids of all ages. Through a partnership with local bike shop Suburban Shred and nonprofit organization Kids On Bikes, an additional day of fine art and fun activities has been added to ROLL!
ROLL 2010 will begin Thursday, August 12 with theme ride "Wonderland" beginning at La'aus Taco Shop on Cache La Poudre and Tejon St. at 8:30 PM. The following evening on Friday, August 13 at 515 Manitou Ave in Manitou Springs, Opening Night will wow young and old with vintage bikes, watercolors, sculpture, photography, drawing and video from 20 artists! The event is a fundraiser for medwheel.org but admission is free and open to the public. Musical entertainment will be provided by solo bass guitarist Brendan Woodard.
ROLL opens at 5 PM at Venue 515, 515 Manitou Avenue next to the Business of Art Center in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Food and beverages will be available at the Canvas Café until 8 PM Friday night. Bring your family and friends for a fantastic summer evening!
New for 2010, ROLL features Free Saturday Kid's Zone at 513 Manitou Avenue. Join the BAC and Kids on Bikes for Free Saturday - Make Cog Dreamcatchers from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Business of Art Center's Resource Room on Saturday, August 14. Bring yourself and your children to transform a repurposed bike cog into a unique and beautiful dreamcatcher for your home. Be sure to be there at 11 AM for a stunning performance by FLATLAND BMX PRO James Macgraw. This local pro redefines the meaning of riding a bicycle with his own brand of BMX thrills.
After the performance, you can catch the Bike Rodeo or head across the street to Memorial Park to sample brews from across the nation during USA Today's Top 10 rated beer festival, Trinity Brewing's Craft Lager Festival from 1 - 6 PM Saturday and Sunday.
