Ok, let’s run, but first, lest I forget in my oxygen deprived state on the Mountain, I always want to thank the volunteers on the course, and I’ll do that now, just to make sure. “Volunteers, you are the heart and soul of these races.” I don’t know any runners who would disagree with me. I ran the Barr Trail Mountain Race last weekend and had a great time, but it didn’t start out that way. The race was late getting started and that always throws off my timing, but fortunately it was no big deal.

I got up early this morning and headed out for my training run in the Garden starting with the Incline Club but heading east instead of west. I was planning on running 9:15 miles, a few seconds faster than last week. I had my usual slow start; I just take a while to get warmed up.
