This is the trail from Maroon Lake to Crater Lake. It's about a mile to Crater. The trail zig-zags through a beautiful stand of Aspen, the ones you can see in all the classic autumn photos of the Maroon Bells. It's an easy trail and great for kids. The scenery is unreal.
My daughter, Laurel, and I did this hike on our annual dad/daughter trip. We also did some fishing, then spent a couple of days at the hot springs in Glenwood Springs. It was awesome.
