A salute to the Boston Marathon at the inaugural Running Film Festival

Huge thanks to Garry Harrington for organizing the Running Film Fest at Stargazers. Awesome night. Pic is of all the Boston Marathon runners in attendance. You gotta see the movie "There Is No Finish Line" about Joan Benoit-Samuelson ... WOW! And Alex Nichols' film on local running legend Ted Castaneda - Alex made it when he was in college - was really well done and very informative. Back in the day, Ted beat Steve Prefontaine's national record in the 3-mile and held for about 20 minutes, before Prefontaine took it back.
Two of the most soft-spoken people you'll ever want to meet, Nichols and Castaneda attended and talked about the film.
"I didn't make it to the Olympics, but I accomplished so much along the way, I traveled the world and ran in some great races," Castaneda said.
And the documentary "Running the Rockpile" about the Mount Washington Road Race in New Hampshire was awesome and included footage of local runners Ryan Hafer and Tommy Manning, a three time member of the U.S. Mountain Running Team.
Big shout-out to Simon Gutierrez, a former Mount Washington champ and three time winner of the Pikes Peak Ascent who will be inducted into the Mount Washington Road Race Hall of Fame this year.
All in all, an inspiring evening
