Veterans' Home Run draws field of 330, Harrison High grad Will Edwards takes the win
2011 Harrison High School graduate Will Edwards won the Veterans' Home Run 5K on Saturday, posting a winning time of 16 minutes, 44 seconds.
A field of 330 showed up to run and walk in one of Colorado Springs' best fundraiser races. Proceeds go to the Crawford House, which provide a structured living environment for veterans while they're enrolled in a VA treatment program.
Josiah Valenzuela, 17, of Colorado Springs places second (16:44). Randy Horner of Colonial Heights, Virgina, was third in 17:18.
In the women's race, Kendelle Krause, 24, of Lombard, Ill., finished first in 21 minutes, 35 seconds. She was followed by Amelia Jaime, 31, of Colorado Springs in 22:48.
