It was a cold and wet spring evening, but that didn't stop 44 adventurous folks from signing on to run with the Jack Quinn's Running Club. Eight runners earned their 10-run shirts. And the cozy atmosphere upstairs at Jack Quinn's provided a warm landing for cold and wet runners.
Jack Quinn's runner and District 20 school teacher Liz Ford was there to help raise money for the National Foundation of Transplants in Honor of her son Arlo Tajeda.
Ford said Arlo has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and she is attempting to raise $130,000 for a transplant operation not covered by Arlo's health insurance.
Ford is selling raffle tickets for $1 and the drawing for the big prizes will happen at next week's run.
And yeah, she did name him after Arlo Guthrie.
