About 30 runners crunched some early morning gravel on Saturday in the Garden of the Gods to start the 25-mile Ponderous Posterior trail run. The event is part of the Fat Ass Series, which includes several loosely organized trail runs along some of Colorado's best Front Range trails. Though the top finishers earned awards - lovely bronze trophies of a horse's ass - the event was not officially timed.
After making a singletrack loop around the Garden of the Gods, the runners climbed the Incline and hit some high points at Rocky Mountain and Red Mountain. The run ended after a twisting route through Red Rock Canyon. Video here ... http://bit.ly/1eUYyXk.
