The gang from the Triple Crown of Running made a recon run in advance of the Pikes Peak Road Ascent 10K, scheduled for Oct. 7. Online registration opens next week. The race will begin at the Pikes Peak Highway Toll gate. Runners will ascend the paved Pikes Peak Highway - with no traffic - and finish at Crystal Reservoir. The course includes about 1,700 feet of climbing and some of the best scenery in Colorado.
Colorado Running Company/Inov-8 runner Pete Maksimow covered the course in 45 minutes, 34 seconds, averaging about 7:19 per mile.
