Race director Tim Gore could not believe the turnout for the inaugural Springs Rescue Mission 5K on Saturday (Nov. 9, 2013) in Colorado Springs, as about 400 runners toed the line for a good cause. "This community made it it happen," Gore said. "It is just amazing." The race served as a fundraiser for the Springs Rescue Mission, which strives to assist families in need by providing food, clothing, and other goods and services. The race was not officially timed.
