Riding with the folks in the Therapeutic Recreation Program
Bicycling advocates Kelvin Clark and Allen Beauchamp throw the doors open at Angletech Cycles (1483 Garden of the Gods Rd.) every two weeks for people in the Therapeautic Recreation Program. Cyclists with various disabilities are invited to take a ride on one of Angletech's unique recumbent bikes, trikes and hand-pedaled machines. You have to ride one to really appreciate what these bikes can do. On Sunday, April 17, several cyclists took a spin on the trails of north Colorado Springs as independent film maker Carl Jameson shot some video. Jameson, who wrote, directed and shot the award winning film "The Bicyclists," said he wants to make a short film - probably three to five minutes - about the Therapeutic Recreation Program and the people who challenge themselves to discover the freedom of cycling. The film will be used to promote the Therapeutic Recreation Program. "This is the kind of stuff I like to do," Jameson said. "I like my films to have an effect."
