From Dave Sorenson, Pikes Peak Road Runners
(Results link below)
A warm day brought out a huge crowd to the April Nielson Challenge.
The temps were in the 50s and 157 runners decided to tackle the Nielson.
50 of those were new runners.
One of those new runners was Justin Chaston, who ran the fastest time
of the day and finished the 2 miles in 9:49.937. This is barely off
the course record of 9:48.562 set by Adam Rich in November of 2009.
This month's most improved runner was Carsyn Hamstra, who was 3:06 under
her handicap. Carsyn went home proudly with a new Nielson Challenge shirt.
She'll be writing a book about her experiences and doing a book signing
tour in a few months.
