Pikes Peak Road Runners' Turkey Trot Predict

Pikes Peak Road Runners' Turkey Trot Predict

About 200 runners made their best guesses Saturday the Pikes Peak Road Runners' Turkey Trot Predict 5K at Memorial Park.
In one of the year's most unique events, the runners are required to predict their finishing time. Those who come closest are the winners.
Nobody guessed better than Rachel Meyers who predicted she'd finish in 38 minutes. She missed by only 1.6 seconds.
The top six won frozen turkeys. They were: Meyers (predicted 38:00, actual 37:58.382, difference 1.618 seconds). 2. Neal Oseland (predicted 17:59, actual 17:55.187, difference 3.813), 3. Brian Carey (predicted 29:45, actual 29:40.656, difference 4,344), 4. Nathan Carey (predicted 29:45, actual, 29:30.15, difference 4.85), 5. Jim Donoughe (predicted 30:00, actual 30:05.191, difference 5.191), 6. Renee Renn (predicted 25, actual 24:54.448, difference 5.552).
And Tony Abdella caught a break. Because the Careys had already won a turkey, they insisted on passing it to the seventh-placed runner, Abdella, who guessed 27:00, finished in 26:53.091 with a difference of 6.909 seconds.
