365 Days of Pikes Peak Project

Every person in our community has a connection to this mountain in one way or another. For me, it’s best summed up by saying that when I return from a trip, I see Pikes Peak and say “There’s my mountain!” and instantly feel at home.

As a photographer, I thought I looked at the peak more than others, but once I started displaying my photographs of Pikes Peak, I learned I wasn’t the only one moved by its beauty. This inspired me to share my mountain with the world through photography… because it isn’t just my Peak, it is America’s mountain.

Pikes Peak is the most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan’s Mount Fuji. And over a half million people reach the summit house every year by the Pikes Peak Highway, Barr Trail or the Pikes Peak Cog Railway.

My commitment to you~ to try to capture a gallery quality image every day for a year starting June 1st, 2010. It may be a photo of a cloud covered mountain on some days, but it will be a complete year- 365 days of Pikes Peak!
