Finbarr Kirwan won the men's race, while Nancy Hobbs captured the women's title on Saturday in the Peace Officers' Memorial Valor Run in Colorado Springs. Kirwan clocked 20 minutes, 26 seconds. Hobbs was sixth overall at 24:05 on a course that measured 3.4 miles (but who's counting?) Proceeds from the race go toward the construction of the Pikes Peak Region Peace Officers' Memorial, which will be constructed in memory of those who died in the line of duty. Since 1895, 29 peace officers have been killed in El Paso and Teller Counties.
