Just in from Mount Washington - Joe Gray of Colorado Springs set a new American record today while capturing his second-consecutive win at the Mount Washington Road Race. Gray finished in 58 minutes, 15 seconds,Andy Whacker was second in 1:0):59. Two from Manitou Springs had a big day as Zach Miller finished third in 63:20, and Pete Maksimow fifth. In the women's race, Kim Dobson of Grand Junction won for the third time, blasting up the mountain's steep grades in 1:11:39.
Colorado runners swept the podium as Brandy Erholtz was second in 1:15, followed by Laura Hsefeli in third.
Dobson set the women's American record at Mount Washington in 2012, clocking 1:09:25. She also holds the Pikes Peak Ascent women's record 2:24:58.
