Fort Lewis College cyclist Magen Long sprinted away from Colorado University's Flora Duffy to win the collegeiate women's 'A' race in the Front Range Classic criterium Saturday at the Air Force Academy.
Long had three teammates with her on the final lap while Duffy was left to fend for herself.
"I may as well have been riding by myself," Duffy said.
Duffy has three criterium wins this year. Long said her team worked perfectly on the last lap.
"We neutralized her," Long said. "She was forced to pull the last three laps."
The win helped keep Fort Lewis in position to qualify as a team for the national championships later this spring in Madison, Wisc.
