Fountain Valley 5K for the Fallen, Gallery 1

Fountain Valley 5K for the Fallen, Gallery 1

Now in it's fourth year, the Fountain Valley 5K for the Fallen, Gallery 2 race has become a celebration of courage and honor for Fountain Valley runners who gather to remember the community's military men and women who died while defending their country.
Race director Susan Arnold lost her son, Spc. Ronnie James Tucker, on April 30, 2008. She started the 5K for the Fallen in 2009.
"I started the race because there are so many moms (who lost sons and daughters) in this town," she said.
The race is a fundraiser for the Junior ROTC programs at Fountain Fort-Carson, Widefield and Mesa Ridge High Schools.
The husband and wife team of Jay and Ashley Luna won the men's and women's races. Finishing times were not available after the race. We'll post results when we get them.
