Some of the top runners in the country visited the Jack Quinn's Running Club on Tuesday.
Three-time Australian Olympian Benita Willis and two-time U.S. Olympic trials 10k finalist James Carney drove down from Boulder to talk about Hudson Training Systems (http://hudsontrainingsystems.com/). They were joined by Alicia Williams, an elite runner from Manitou Springs and member of the Boulder Running Company/adidas team, and Scott Negelkerke, who is taking one of the fastest qualifying times (2:32) from the area to the Boston Marathon.
And Greg Tyndall, technical rep for New Balance stopped by to show off the company's new minimalist shoe. It's something between a standard Vibram Five Fingers and a regular running shoe. Pretty cool stuff.
Eight runners picked up their Jack Quinn's Running Club 10-run shirt, and 61 ran with the club for the first time.
Longer days and more temps mean more runners. See ya next week, Colorado Springs.
