Fall Series III, Gallery 4

Alex Nichols won for the third time in three starts in the Pikes Peak Road Runners Fall Series on Sunday at Ute Valley Park. Nichols survived one of the toughest courses ever designed by longtime director Larry Miller. The course was billed at 5.5 miles, but was more like 5.1. Still, Miller included some of the most technical singletrack in Colorado Springs and found some steep hills that tested all of the runners.
Nichols finished in 31 minutes, 46 seconds.
In the women's race, Elizabeth Schultz held off series leader Crystal Goecker to take her second-consecutive win. Schultz clocked 41:17 with Goecker finishing a stride behind.
