Alex Nichols won again on Sunday in the Pikes Peak Road Runners' Fall Series, charging over a 5.5-mile singletrack course in Ute Valley Park in 34 minutes, 18 seconds. With the win, Nichols padded his lead in the series. Through three races, Nichols (26, Colorado Springs) now has a 63 second lead over Pete Maksimow of Manitou Springs.
Maksimow was second in 34:58. Justin Ricks of Pueblo West was third in 35:46.
In the women's race, Clare Bar took the win in 43:32. It was her first Fall Series race. Connilee Walter finished second (44:32), followed by Amanda Ewing 12 seconds behind.
Regina Hammond maintained her lead in the series with a total time of 1:52:52.
