Colorado Springs Landsharks runners battle at AAU Cross Country Nationals

Twenty runners from the Colorado Springs Landsharks Junior Olympic Development Cross Country team will compete on Saturday at the AAU Cross Country Championships at Disney World in Florida.
The runners, ages 8 to 14, will compete in races ranging in distances form 2K to 5K.
The Landsharks run year-round. Those on the Junior Olympic Development team are working to become competitive runners in high school, college and beyond.
"This is a club for serious runners," said co-coach Gina Garcia-Shaw.
Two of the runners, Norman Tanner and Chantae Steele won national championships last year.
The team is also coached by Lisa Rainsberger, the last U.S. woman to have won the Boston Marathon, and Domenick D'Amico, also coach the team.
"These kids all love to run," Rainsberger said. "It's not a chore for them. It's our job to control their relentless enthusiasm, because they don't have an 'off' button."
