Boulder Running Company/Adidas teammates Mario Macias and Brianne Nelson took the wins in the Classic 10K on Saturday in Colorado Springs.
Macias, 30, of Bouder, finished in 30:02, with Ian Burrell (29, Colorado Springs) on his heels in 30:08. Patrick Rizzo (30, Colorado Springs) finished third in 30:34.
Nelson, 31, of Golden, who was the top U.S. runner in the Bolder Boulder women's elite field in May, covered the slightly downhill course in 33:39. Kristen Zaitz, 33, of Broomfield, the 2013 Classic 10K women's champ, was second in 34:45, follwed by Ellie Keyser (25, Fort Collins) in 35:37.
