Big congratulations to the runners and organizers who made the inaugural Blue Moon Trail Run come to life on Friday.
The running went down on the singletrack trails of Ute Valley Park, while the race start and finish lines and post race festivities were set up in Pinon Valley Park.
Leif Sandager (24:45) and Jane Zook (28:29) won the 5K race, while Dominic Angiollo (51:34) and Robyn Barker (1:00:6) won the 10K.
The run was the second in a three race series. The finale, the Great Pumpkin Race, is set for 8:30 a.m., Oct. 6 at Venetucci Farm. Registration and info is here ... http://www.csgrandprix.com/pumpkin.html.
Friday's race was hosted by the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, UpaDowna and the City of Colorado Springs Park and Rec Department. Proceeds went to city Community Centers.
