Alex Nichols, 28, of Colorado Springs, won the Barr Trail Mountain Race on Sunday in Manitou Springs, dashing over the 12.5-mile single-track course in 1 hour, 34 minutes, 21 seconds. Laura Heafeli, 45, of Del Norte, was the women's champion, setting a new age-group record of 1:56:56.
